On December 12, 2025, the Florida Trauma System Advisory Council provided the following letter to the Florida Department of Health regarding prehospital blood administration for injured patients at risk of hemorrhagic shock.
"On behalf of the Florida Trauma System Advisory Council (FTSAC), we respectfully submit this letter urging the Florida Department of Health (FDOH) to support, enable, and scale prehospital blood administration for injured patients at risk of hemorrhagic shock. Early blood-based resuscitation in the field--when clinically indicated--has the potential to reduce preventable mortality, shorten time to definitive care, and improve functional outcomes for Floridians injured by major trauma."
