Florida is uniquely positioned to advance military–civilian trauma readiness, with three fully operational Mission Zero partnerships anchoring Miami, Jacksonville, and Tampa — each aligned with a distinct service branch (Army, Navy, Air Force). These nodes represent a living proof-of-concept for embedding military trauma providers into high-acuity civilian trauma centers, improving readiness, integration, and care quality.
The statewide heat map identifies logical expansion regions in the Panhandle, the Central Florida corridor, and North Florida, while highlighting surge-interoperability zones along the South Florida coast and Keys. This structure creates a foundation for scalable readiness planning, patient movement pathways, and regional Medical Operations Command Centers (RMOCC) alignment. Florida stands as the national model for cross-service trauma integration, and serves as the leading platform for future federal expansion and evaluation of Mission Zero outcomes.
